Georg Miciu: The Painter of Patagonia

He was very young when he decided to be an artist and traveled the World with his paints and brushes. He has painted landscapes of Southern Argentina for almost 40 years, and now lives with his family in San Martín de los Andes, reaping the benefits of a far from typical career.
When Georg Miciu Nicolaevici arrived in Paris, an art critic, director of an important magazine, returned a folder with samples of his art to him saying:- "What a pity, what a waste of so much talent!".- "Why?, asked the young painter. - "Because life is not beautiful", was the answer.
-"At first I didn't understand." confesses Miciu, "later we became friends and I visited her home: a typical Parisian attic where she lived alone with her two sad looking children. She was a sculptress and showed me her work that reflected her morbid outlook. -"I said to myself, this is how she sees life and she transmits her view very courageously. But is life beautiful? Yes, but you have to live it as I do."
This affirmation may be politically incorrect in certain circles, but Miciu always knew how he wanted to live. >>>
